The Emerald Pencil

               "The Emerald Pencil"
                Oil on Panel 8" X 10"

The Emerald Pencil is a cute little shop located in Nashville Indiana. I painted this during an IPAPA paint out with the Brown County Art Gallery.

The light hitting the porch is what attracted me to this subject, and the green gazing ball I thought added a nice touch.

Potter's Bridge

      "Potter's Bridge" Plein Air Oil
                            8" X 8"

This painting was painted at Potter's Bridge in Noblesville Indiana. My friend Lesley and I spent the morning painting the bridge on location. There was nice light coming through, that attracted my interest.

"Yellow Bird Cottage"

               "Yellow Bird Cottage"
                Plein Air Oil 12" x 12"

This was done in Carmel Indiana during "Drawn To The District". Which invited artist to come and paint Plein air (on location) in the Carmel Arts District.

It was exciting to find a new subject to paint. I found the Yellow Bird Cottage along the Monon. Painting along the Monon a nice Russian man talked with me for a good while. He was very pleasant.

I was able to get about 90% of the painting done before a big thunder storm came along. I think this would make a charming painting in someone's home.

Cicero Creek

                    "Cicero Creek"
             Plein Air Oil 8" x 10"

I have painted this many times before, but never in the spring. It was a pleasant morning along the creek. The temperature was warm, even though it was overcast that morning. It just seemed to be a perfect morning. I hated to leave this quiet spot. I'll be back in the summer to paint a different view. There are many views to paint at this location.

Magnolias In The Park

             "Magnolias In The Park"
                   Plein Air Oil 5" x 7"

I was looking for magnolia trees to paint, and I came across these two trees in the park. The gazebo is used by many visiting the park. I love the pink color of the trees standing strong between the gazebo while looking up the hill at the scene.

Carousel In The Winter

            "Carousel In The Winter"
Plein Air Oil 5" x 7" in private collections

I just loved how the shadows rested across the snow. The sun light hitting the roof tops, and the warm colors of the winter trees. The carousel colors are just intense with the reflections of the snow bouncing off it, I fell in love with this scenery.

Abandon House

  " Abandon House" Plein Air Oil 8" x 10"

Abandon House was painted on 166Th and Boden Road in Noblesville Indiana. I painted it one morning back in late fall of 2014. Without me knowing at that time the house was empty. They have now boarded up the windows, and I think soon the house will be torn down. There are plans for a new subdivision to be built where the house stands. I'm glad I painted this cute home before it's gone forever.
